First post, question
Hello. I am trying to make informed decisions regarding my new audio system. I have an Onkyo 805 receiver to power the system, but now comes the time to select the speakers. Right off the bat, I know the best way to choose is to simply listen and decide for myself which ones sound best to me. However as all of you are Polk fans, I'd still appreciate your thoughts on what you like about the Polk speakers you own, such as build quality, customer service, price, value, general sound quality, etc. Right now I'm leaning towards the new RTi 2008 series setup: (The room is 12 x 20 feet in size)
RTi A5 or A7 fronts
CSi A6 Center
FXi A6 Surrounds and rears
VTF Mk 3 sub from HSU
I'll be honest, I'm also reviewing the Axioms, Onix Rockets and Ascends, but I'd sure appreciate your thoughts about Polks, especially as compared to these other brands, as well as the setup I'm considering. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't give the Axioms a second thought personally. The Rockets and Ascends are good, but I'd still give Polk the nod. The engineering and refinement of the RTiA line is superb in every fashion.
Also, money better spent on a new Polk DSW PRO 600, vs the HSU.
Have you had a chance to listen to the lines you mention? At the end of the day, what sounds best to you is the only right choice.
Welcome to the boards!
Cheers,

Thanks Russ. I was able to hear the Axioms at a friends house, and they were OK, however I have not heard the Rockets or Polks. My concern with the Acsends is I've heard build quality is not as good as they could be. As for the Rockets, their center channel speaker is massive and I'm really having a tough time finding a TV stand that will accomodate it, whereas the Polk CSi should be much easier to locate. Regardless, any of them fit within my budget, but I'm leaning towards the Polk system at the moment based on functionality and aesthetics, and hopefully their sound when I get some to my house to listen to.
I also had not considered the Pro 600 sub, but I'll definitely take a look at it.
I'm fine with the surrounds and center, but does anyone have an opinion on the fronts. For my size room, Is there a preference between the RTi A5 or A7? Listening would probably be 80% theater and 20% music.
