I have these speakers and just got a new onkyo 705. On this website it says to hook the fronts into the sub and then into the receiver. it then says set fronts to large and others to small. My onkyo doesnt have large and smallit use 40hz-200hz. It has full band as an option so im assuming thats like setting the fronts to large. but i dont know what to set my center and surrounds too. How many hz. Can anyone help me

100hz all around. 80Hz is the standard but those speakers wont give you much below8 80-100 hz. So I would stick with 100hz.
    Monitor 7b's front
    Monitor 4's surround
Frankinpolk Center (2 mw6503's with peerless tweeter)
    M10's back surround
    Hafler-200 driving patio Daytons
    Tempest-X 15" DIY sub w/ Rythmik 350A plate amp
Dayton 12" DVC w/ Rythmik 350a plate amp
    Harman/Kardon AVR-635
    Oppo 981hd
    Denon upconvert DVD player
    Jennings Research (vintage and rare)
    Mit RPTV WS-55513
    Tosh HD-XA1
    B&K AV5000

    Dont BAN me Bro!!!!

If you are running the front speaker wires to the sub then to the speakers: set the fronts to full range. If you set up through the sub, then only way you're going to get any bass is to set the fronts to full range (no freq limit.) If you set the fronts w/ a freq cut-off, then you will lose the bass. On the sub, set the crossover to something in the 100-120 Hz range.

If you use an LFE (line level) output to the sub's LFE input or pre-outs to sub's L/R line level inputs, then follow the advise from Jake and VS.

    Cheers, Jim

I say you are best running it like Jim first mentioned large and no sub and through the sub.

Unless you have a SPL meter and test tones, why don't you just use the receiver's Audyssey's MultEQ XT for room calibration?
