CS1 or CSi3 for R50s?

Hey guys, I sold my Velodyne CHT front rows due to upgraditis and just ordered the R50s. Now I need a center speaker. I'm getting both the CS1 and CSi3 for the same price (~$130). Which is a better match for the R50s?

I know I can't go wrong with either one, but from the forums it seems like CSi3 might be too bright for the R50s. Is that right?

I should also mention that I use it for 90% music and 10% movies.

Current setup:
Onkyo SR 504
R50 fronts
no surrounds yet
no sub yet

It might be too bright for some people with the R50's, but it blended well with mine.

I'm more movies than music though, and even when playing music it's usually 2 channel, so the center didn't really come into play for music with me.

If I'm not mistaken the csi25 was the recommended match for the R50's.

Thanks for the reply. Polk recommends the CS2 (it has the same size driver 6.5" as the R50), but that's 2x the price of the CS1 or CSi3, unless I go the ebay route.

Hi welcome to Club Polk. PA recommends the cs1 because the csi25 is no longer in production, and they can't officially recommend used gear on their corporate site.

That said, you should forgo the cs1/csi3 and get a preowned csi25 off ebay, videogon, craigslist, etc..
