Anybody a fan of Roxy Music w/Bryan Ferry? I went on amazon and listened to some of the cues and it's actually pretty cool if not different. A mix of Bowie, Floyd and Journey. Many have said that aside from DSOTM, this is one of the best 5.1 mixes on the SACD format.

Anyway if anyone has heard this disc or their music in general what are your thoughts?

I have it, not really a Roxy music fan, but it is a great surround mix. I've pretty much bailed on surround music so I haven't listened to it in a while.

It's an excellent disc, especially in 2 channel.

I have the Avalon SACD and it's a very good 5.1 mix. It is not as good IMO
as the DSOTM 5.1 mix. Other 5.1 SACD's I highly recommend are Beck's Sea Change-fantastic in 5.1! Steely Dan-Gaucho, Dire Straight's-Brothers In Arms, all the Elton John 70's SACD's are great in 5.1. If you can play DVD audio get the Beatles Love dvd audio. It's AMAZING in 5.1, one of my favorites and sounds fantastic!

One of my fave SACD's - Avalon by Roxy music. I was never much of a fan till I heard this 5.1 mix. I listen to it all the time.

The stereo 2 channel DSD mix is excellent.

I have almost the entire Roxy/Ferry catalog in remastered HDCD and some on vinyl. I like the old with Eno playing a large part AND the newer B.Ferry lounge era.
Check out "Mamouna" if you like "Avalon"

Roxy Music Live at the Appollo (DVD) is one amazing show, both music and visual. It was part of a reunion concert, but the band never sounded better. I guess it isn't for everyone, but it is in my top 3 music DVDs.

wow, this is an amazing 5.1 effort - I'd describe the mix as organic and not technical. The India instrumental track almost tickles your ears as the sounds pan all around you. I'll take F1's advice and check out the 2ch. dsd layer tomorrow. Well worth the $, my gf's really digging it as well.

If you own a SACD player, this disk is a must own. Whether you play it in two channel or multi channel, it doesn't get any better than this.
