:cool: It started on Sunday morning, when I was releaved to find that an audio deal may not have gone south, and I will get my end, when.....

The wife wanted to go for a ride on the bike (`98 HD), so we saddled up and headed N.E. towards Folsom, CA.....about 100 or so miles away..
Nice ride, not much wind, clear sky`s, light traffic, warm.....

the bike sounded funny to me, but I kinda ignored it...
She doesn`t seem to have as much power as usual, but I kinda ignored it...


On the way back, about 2/3`s home, I stop to get gas , a botte of aqua (H dos 0 ), and have a smoke...

We made good time, like I said..., light traffic, etc.
rollin about 75-80....just kinda cruisin....
Tubes are hot and waiting for me when I get home...:)
Life is good,


I decide to take the next exit and stop at our favorite Mexican resturaunt to get our grub on before we call it a day....

She (the bike) starts making a funny noise, loosin power, but I`m going through the gears, and traffic lights...thinking of the Taako deener I`m about to scarf down, when it gets to sounding like I just threw a handful of silverware into the garbage disposal.
I felt sick to my stomach, heart broke, and pissed all at the same time, as I leaned down to hear what was going on.:eek:

Now, I don`t know if you have ever heard a motor as it`s sucking a valve, blowing a head gasket, and destroying itself before, but it aint pretty.

I can hear, and picture in my minds eye, bending valves, breaking pistons, rods bending, cylider walls being heavily scored , repeatedly, by pistons, rings, internal motor parts, etc.
OMG, NOOO.....:eek: :eek: :eek:

I rolled into the parking lot and shut her down....

I got off and just looked down at her in disbelief, and disgust...
my head and guts are twistin...

My baby`s DEAD....:o :(
Wha...Wha...WTF ?!!.....this aint happeneing.....


Then like an IDIOT, like the bike gods smiled down and made it all better, I tried to start her back up.....

NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

What the HELL was I thinking....

Well,

I didn`t bring my cell phone , but the wife did, and she calls my Insurance Company for a tow truck....they say 30 minutes....but I`m only covered for the first 15 miles....the next 30-40 miles comes outta my pocket.
No Big, just send a friggin truck...!

15 minutes go by..... they call back and say 2 hours...

Fifteen minutes go by....they call back and say nobody wants to leave the area, and were stuck....no truck (flatbed), but IF I find a truck to tow us myself, they will re-emberse me for the first 15 miles....gee thanks...

I call AAA and she say`s "A Harley-Davidson"?....no way...click
I`m thinking to myself, "But I have 5 cars insured by you ****".....WTH

As a tow truck rolls by......5 minutes later a flatbed rolls by...
I`m pissed beyond rational thinking....
The wife tries to smile at me and say`s, "Bear ?.....say something"....
"Babe.....say something....your scaring me.."

Okay....brother Bob lives in that direction, and Rob lives that way, Bob & Kath live that way...a five to ten, maybe fifteen minute ride either direction....just call one of them and tell `em to bring the truck or trailer, as they all ride, and are family.....in-laws on my Big Bros wifes side friends-family....we`re all close, so no biggie...

(wife) "I don`t have anybodies number, the numbers are all in your phone, you can call the........where`s your phone ?"
(Me) AT FRIGGEN HOME< WHY!!????

WHAT`S THAT BEEPING?

"um...my phone is going dead ?!!
what are we gonna do ?
It`s getting dark."

"Don`t talk babe, just let me get a grip before I really get mad....."

"Okay, let `s head to Rob`s...it`s only a couple miles."
"we`ll leave it there , in his garage , and I`ll come back with the truck tomorrow and pick her up....call the kids and tell `em we need a ride."

WHAADDAYA MEAN THE PHONES DEAD ?!!

okay, payphone....gotta be one around here somewhere....over there..
WTF...sombody has pulled the reciever off of the friggen phone...great !
What kinda **** pulls the reciever off of a phone anyway ?

Let`s start pushin...you watch for traffic..I`ll push.....
No keep an eye out for traffic while you push from the back...:rolleyes:

This bike weighs like 6-700 lbs, and is really hard as hell to push.

Easily, two and a half, almost three hours later....
Sweating so bad it looked like I was standing in the rain, legs like rubber, huffin and puffin, we make it to Rob`s....
I call the kids, who are about an hour away to come get us.

The kids pull up , and for some reason that I fail to grasp, my oldest one (26), seem to think all this is funny and is crackin jokes that I do not, in any way, find humorous....:mad:

I wanted to choke her....
badly

I know It aint her fault.....but she`s not helping either.

She`s just tryin to cheer me up....I guess


Doesn`t she get it ?


She`s my commuter, weekender, daily ride ,and bestest friend (besides the wife, of course).
she`s either dead, playin dead, or in a serious comma...!

I didn`t even have a car or truck for like 6 or 7 years.....just my baby
Dayshift, swingshift...night, day....rain or shine...
I work in the shipyards, and winter can be harsh (Wind & Rain)


Anyway,

I get up the next morning (Monday) to go to work, and can`t move....
Niether can my wife, and she`s almost in tears....

I`m to old for this ****...


Today is day # 2....I went and picked her up with my truck last night.... After I finally got up from my extremly long nap !!!;)

I went to work this morning, but came back home to work from my office at home, as I am still having difficulties walking and getting around !!

I pulled muscles that I didn`t even know existed....
My Wife hasn`t gone to work in two days either !


It sucks getting old....and my Baby is DEAD....


Life blows
Or should I say SUCKS..........................valves

    sorry to hear of your troubles man. A few more days and you and the wife will feel better. I could not imagine pushing that bike. Hopefully the bike will not cost you a arm and a leg.

    I am so sorry to hear that your HD has been severely injury. Just crank up the tunes a relax and breath. Legatrim help the muscles feel better. What the possibility of new motor or overhauling the engine?

    Once people reach a certain age, there's really no reason to keep them around except to buy their gear. I didn't know Rangers' complained? :)
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
