Slot A or B, computer questions

I have noticed that there are many computer experts here. I am calling for your help.
I have an older Dell laptop which has two 128M RAMs. In order to improve its performance, I bought a 512M RAM. Should I install this new RAM into slot A or B? Should I install the 512M with the old 128M? Or just use the 512M only?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Use both 128 and 512, if your laptod can handle 640 RAM. If it can, it really doesnt matter what order you put them in (to my knowledge).Monitor 7b's front
Monitor 4's surround
Frankinpolk Center (2 mw6503's with peerless tweeter)
M10's back surround
Hafler-200 driving patio Daytons

Dayton 12" DVC w/ Rythmik 350a plate amp
Harman/Kardon AVR-635
Oppo 981hd
Denon upconvert DVD player

Is each stick of RAM rated at the same speed? Not sure about laptops, but I know desktop mobos can accept RAM of different speeds depending on the chipset. Just make sure they match. It shouldn't matter what order you put them in.

Thanks for your helps.
I didn't check the speed, but they are both pc2100 RAMs. I think their speeds should be the same.
