Just picked up their self-titled yesterday. It's damn good music and recorded very well also. It's just pure and raw, but with excellent fidelity. Sounds like a bunch of guys jamming away in my living room. I don't think they used any digital reverb or other effects on the recording.
I really like this style of Cuban music, but I don't know where to find similar artists. Does anyone else like this band and can you suggest some good listening?

Ry Cooder did a great job with natural acoustics on that. It's good he soldiered on in spite of the musicians from Africa not being able to travel to Havana to participate. Also good that Cooder recorded these guys because 3 passed shortly afterwards.
