Sound really simple - I just need an audio file with 30 seconds of silence, how do I do it? it's very frustrating that something so simple can be so difficult to do...

What kind of software do you have? For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
-
Start - Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Sound Recorder
Disconnect your mic and then hit record -
nothing really, not into editing music or anything. It looks like there are bunches of options out there, but all overkill for this one thing I need to do. I just need an mp3 file with like 30 seconds of silence...everything I've found is way complicated...

excellent, any way to me to get that to MP3?

It looks like there are converters out there, but I don't wanna pay 30 bucks to get a blank mp3 file...

Do you have any burning software on your computer? Nero, Nti, etc. will convert wave files to MP3.

So will CDex. Google it. It's a completely free cd ripper/audio file converter. I use it for everything.Ludicrous gibs!

PolkManiac, PM me your email address and I'll send you an mp3 with 30 seconds of silence.
edit: it's 470Kb -

Run through a spectrum analyzer to make sure its really silent. -
I checked per your suggestion. I selected 5000% vertical zoom on the track (it's flat) and then ran it - there's nothing there.

Bump.
I see Polkmaniac is online... do you still want that blank 30 seconds? -
