uh, well they were. I go through a lot of speakers:) Have some electronics listed in the classified section as I go through a lot of gear, trying different units and playing around. So I unload stuff periodically at really good prices.
Yes have had a few pieces:) -

Yes 7x200. A very nice sounding amp indeed. Built in fans are very quiet and you cannot hear them unless you put your head right up to the amp, and that's after running content very loud for a period of time. Am going to try a NAD amp next. -
I like the imaging capabilities of the models using the UNI Q driver.

Still working on the room treatments, actually building some. The KEFs really do shine with good components in the mix. -
So has anyone heard the new line up? That is the next purchase I will be making..........don't make me be the first to report on these:D Someone has to have bought some already.

Lookin good.

I am going to try the Owens 703 next and see if it makes any dif. Currently using Roxul (mineral wool rock wool), and yes it was very much worth adding room treatments indeed.
I quit trying to talks folks into doing it. They either get it, or they don't. The base traps are a must if running a heavy handed sub in the room. -
The OC 703 is the recommended material but it is not available in Canada (or least not easy to find) or I would have used it.I used Roxul as well and a couple of acoustics experts I consulted suggested the performance would be similar.
Yep some don't get it ,they spend big bucks on component and cable upgrades but ignore the cost effective benifits of room treatments.Testing

I haven't heard the new line yet, but my guess is that you will find them harsh or too bright based on your past speaker choices. The RT has always had more bite in the high end than the ring tweeter used in the Rockets or Polk's LSi line and I would assume they keep that lineage alive only more refined.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

Well I don't like a reserved top end. I do like detail a lot for both movies and music. Hence the reason for keeping the Kefs in my current mix. They are extraordinary for both. The Kefs are not bright nor to laid back. Maybe I will look into the LSI line. Still want to get some input on the RTI A if available from current owners. -
I understand they are using the same speaks, just updated crossovers and cabinets..

The LSi is too soft for my personal taste in my room for music with some tubes in the mix, but I have always liked the RT for movies as they tend to cut through better at lower volumes with dialog. The LSi line does open up at volume nicely, on short sessions, but are too laid back for critical listening for my old ears at lower levels.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

I too thought the LSi`s were too laid back, and kept running the RTi`s....just letting the 7`s , 9`s and LSiC collect dust...
Then one day I just swapped it all out and recalibrated..
Now I`m used to the tweeter , so it sounds just like it should
I have the 9`s in my 2ch rig, and they sound sweet...SS amp and tube Pre Amp....of course the I/C`s and speak cable made a big difference

One thing I really appreciate about my VMPS speakers -- they include pots for the midrange and treble, and putty for the bass, so you can dial them in according to your room and personal taste. No worries about a particular speaker or music or component or cable being too bright, too harsh, too laid back, etc.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Yep. There's putty on the passive radiator. Add or take a pinch off at a time and it changes the q -- it makes the bass as tight as you prefer.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Guess I will give the RTI A a shot then and take it from thier. The Kefs have a very nice, ballanced, top end that will be hard to beat.

Is this sort of like adding weights to a passive sub design? -
HEY! You're the guy on craigslist from Bonney Lake. I knew it the second I saw those Rockets. How come I've never noticed you on here before. Still trying to unload those SVS subs?
Sorry, I really have nothing to contribute towards the real intent of this thread. -

Yup I am in Bonney Lake. Already sold the SVS sub. Joined the Polk forum in 05, did some posting, asked some questions, grabbed some Rockets and am now looking back in the Polk direction.
If you are local and want to swing by do it.
