Lap dance, I mean Laptop

I want to pick up a cheap laptop (new) but it can be older model (XP), and don't need a huge hard drive. It's for my 80+ yr old mom. Any suggestions on some online sellers? It seems you should be able to pick up a decent machine for under $500 if you only need 30 gig and not a lot of RAM. Thanks.

Try craigslist for a local purchase. Last year I bought a brand new laptop with warranty for my wife via craigslist for about $400 cheaper than retail.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Dell. Just got an Inspiron for my mom -
I second the Dell suggestion. They have regular sales, and their low-end laptops can oftentimes be had for $399-$499Speakers: Polk LSi15

Ya, you can get a new good laptop at times on the Dell site for $500. I have bought 250 Dells (150 are laptops) now at work and some of them are approaching 3 years old. I have had about 3 problems total that required us to call up their support to come out and fix (motherboard in all 3 cases). Friggen things are rock solid.Testing
