Center Speaker Size Problem

New to home theater and about to make first purchase of Polk speakers. I am currently using the pedestal for my LCD on top of the entertainment unit. My problem is I only have 5.5 inches of shelf height right below the TV where the center speaker would be placed. It looks as though the only center speaker that would fit is the RM series. I would prefer either the CS or CSi. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

Before you decide on a center, pick the fronts first as you want the three to match. Then go to "products" at the top of this page and find your possible choices and scroll to the bottom of the page about each speaker and they recommend matching center's.

We talked about the large CSi5 speaker a couple of weeks ago with the same problem. It's big and heavy and doesn't easily fit on a TV stand. I ended up putting it on a low stand in front of the tv, turning it over so it points upwards, and adjusting the distance and level to match my L and R RTi8's. Sounds excellent. But you'll want the one most matched to your fronts, so it may be different.

I would suggest getting the CSi5 as it's on clearance now, at an excellent price. And work with your set up to fit it in.
