What I'm looking to do is program a VARIABLE on my MX-950 for powering ON and OFF my Toshiba XA2 HD-DVD player. All my other gear has discrete ON and OFF commands except for the XA2. I think I have the general idea of what a variable is, just not sure of the steps to program one.
Here is how I have my remote set up. On the "Watch" screen, first I press the "ON" button which powers on the projector and my SMS-1. I then choose from watch "HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, Satellite, etc". which powers on all other necessary gear. For example, after the pro-jo and SMS-1 are powered up, if I press "Watch HD-DVD", the pre/pro powers on and switches to the correct input, my Monoprice switch switches to the correct input, the XA2 powers on and the projector switches to the HDMI input. If for some reason the command fouls up and misses something, if I hit the "Watch HD-DVD" again, all works well except for the fact that it then powers down the XA2 which we all know takes forever to boot-up again.
I would love to basically get my 950 setup like a Harmony remote which knows what the staus of components are, whether the power is "on" or whether the power is "off". Any help would be greatly appreciated.
