Any Magnepan owners?
In my quest for a new audio setup, how do the current Magnepan's, like the 1.6 compare to the Dynaudio Focus 220 or Totem Forest of which I'm considering.
About 20 years ago, I purchased the Polk Monitor 5B's, but almost purchased the Maggie MMG of that time. I was just amazed how the speaker just disappeared and like I was sitting in the front row. With it's decent lower range and good mids, I just couldn't get past its' some times muddy highs.
Which brand of equipment would match nicely with the Maggies? Plinius?

I have Magnepan 1.6QR's and love them. The Totem and Dynaudio are no slouches and I listened to several of each of those brands before deciding on the Maggies. The SQ traits of the Maggies just match well with what I like from my 2 ch system at this point in time.
I drive them with Parasound HCA-1500's in a vertical bi-amp configuration, a Rogue 66 Magnum pre, and a Jolida 100 CDP. I'm using an SVS SB12+ sub to fill in the low end. I'm really very happy with the system.DKG999

Haven't listened to the DF220, but as far as the Totem / Maggie choice: it depends on the room where you will use them. Maggies need lots of room to work well. Totems can do w/ less space & may be easier to place. I love the sound of both, although they each have their own character.
Good Luck, JimA day without music is like a day without food.
