I am back building Z Cables again if anyone is interested. The cores are the Canare Star Quad 4S11 11AWG which make great bi-amp cables, and even better regular, double termination cables! I can do custom lenghts, colors, terminations, etc. I do offer 1 month satifaction guarantee with full money back. Let me know if you have any questions and I would be happy to answer them!

Jake

    Jake,

I was considering some silver speaker cables. I don't know if you have any experience with this kind of cable. What is you experience and thoughts on silver speaker cables? What silver cables can be purchased in bulk?

spasticpitbull; I am not quiet sure what you mean by leaf count. If you are referring to the number of terminations on each cable, (4 vs 8) it is the same price. Let me know if that wasn't what you were asking.

schwarcw; I have heard good things about silver cable, but have never used it myself.

Oh, gotcha. I have never heard a name for that, but let's call it "leaf" as you say. The banana plugs that I use are leaf. Let me assure you that they stay well. However, if connection is your issue, I can use a "locking" banana plug which spreads the prong open once it is in the post.

I WISH I still had the Henry 3K Ultra.
WOAD works a LOT of low band, and traded me an Ameritron 1500 plus lots of cash, so I sold it.
The Ameritron will easily do legal limit.
The Big Henry is far better on low bands with high SWR because of it;s vacuum variable air capacitors and a FAR better tank circuit.

I JUST moved into this QTH, not even back on air yet.
    Don't know WA7ZWD by CALL ?

KA7NIQ is the ONLY call I have ever held.
Licensed as a novice in Seattle back in 1982, went to General in Florida, then to advanced.

    Kept my original call.

    Ka7 Never In Question, LOL

OR KA7 NO IQ better yet.

NO IQ busts pileups real well, and people get a good laugh out of it.
    Are you on air ?

    What license class, what equipment

I am tech class and I'm just running an early 90's Kenwood 2m with a 50w amp through my homemade copper J-pole, plus my little Icon HT 2m/440. I have been meaning to put something in my truck, but that takes money.

I'm sure people LOVE where this post has gone...

Yeah, it is off the thread topic.
Just wanted to say hi :)

Are you using the Canare Wire ?

What would be really cool is to TRY and find some Teflon Insulated Canare Type wire ?

As ya know, Teflon is supposed to be the best dielectric ?

I THINK I saw some, but of course, one had to buy a bunch.
FINE for someone like you that offers it at a good deal to people :) , but impractical for your one cable Joe :(

While you are at it, have the wire manufacturer stuff the Canare with cotton:eek:
    It softens the highs

Actually the Cotton MAY decrease air borne vibrations

DID you know, you can actually mold the cotton and change the soud ?

If you squeeze the cotton, you tighten up the bass!
Loosen it up, and the midrange flows better, but be careful, bass can get wooly :)
