Any performance problems if I install the CSW155 inwall sub horizontally centered under my screen?

All the pics show it sitting vertically in the wall.

If I remember right from reading the literature, the sub is made so that it fits inbetween the wall studs OR the floor studs. My only thoughts with the floor vs. the wall is that the wall might project the sound a little better depending on what type of floor covering you have. Plus, if anything is on top of it, it might rattle like the dickins. But, the key word there is MIGHT. But generally I don't see a problem either way, as long as your installation follows the installion specs for the sub.

I was only thinking of keeping it in the wall under the screen (not in the floor) but I don't have room to mount it vertically (with the top part behind the screen). Rather, I was going to frame out a few inches under the screen for the sub, but wanted to make sure I wasn't hurting the subs performance by mounting the sub on its side rather than vertically.

You will have to frame out the studs you cut to fit the sub horizontally. Not to mention if it is a load bearing wall it could be a real hassle. Either way you are looking at a good amount of work. Why don't you want to mount it to the side of the TV? Is it a visual thing?

I am not sure but it might play with the sound although the sub itself is in a sealed enclosure so my guess is it would be minimal.

I'm building the room from scratch, so there is no problem on framing it properly. The screen is recessed so the sub can't be mounted vertically.

I've been told by my sound consultant that under the screen is the best location for the sub. He likes to avoid corners for some reason.

Anyway, I just want to verify that mounting the sub horizontally won't affect performance. I'm already giving up some performance going with an inwall sub .
