RTi6 as a center questions.

I'm waiting to see if users say the new RTi speakers sound better than the previous generation. If they do, then I might replace my front left/right RTi6's with the equivalent speaker in the new line (I must admit that the improved, less silver look of the new speakers is a definite plus for me).

I was thinking I might use the older RTi6's as a center speaker and as a single back surround (my CSi30 center is supposedly not timber matched with the RTi6's, whereas the RTi6 as a center speaker should be timber matched with the new RTi's).

2 questions.
1. Does it matter sound-wise whether I place a RTi6, as a center speaker, in a vertical or horizontal position?
2. Does the RTi6 have enough power to do the job required of a center speaker?
