OK real quick guys since Im in the airport traveling as we speak. I need a portable gaming device, being that I travel so damn much it gets pretty boring. Not sure if the PSP or the DS lite is the answer so Im depending on you guys to help out. How are the screens on both? How is gaming without light on? What has more features? Which is fun, meaning I will enjoy playing? I just need something that will keep me busy, traveling from Japan to the US, Hawaii, Thailand, and the rest of Asia I need something to do for hours. Any suggestions would help so I can buy the thing and finally have something to occupy my time. Thanks guys.

My kids both have DS Lites and they are really nice. You can also get a "game" for them that allows them to surf the internet over wireless connections. (they have built in wi-fi)
The games are pretty good. Most that I have are pokemon or mario based due to the age of my kids, but I have heard that brain age and animal crossing are quite good. (There are others that look really good, but would be way to advanced for my kids.)
Sorry - don't really know much about the PSP, but the DS's are really nice. One thing though - I do recommend the extended warrantee on them (hinge cracking issues). Since they seem to be price controlled, I let the extended warrantee cost and coverage make my decision on where to purchase them. (in my case - it was a local EB Games, you may have more or better options though)
either way - I am sure you will have fun with it.

You'll want to see what the PSP can do over in Japan before you decide. I do know that it can do a lot more there than it can in the US. For example, Sony just announced a over the air TV tuner add on for the PSP.
PSP would get my personal vote. -
if you are intending to purchase for yourself and not kids, i'd definately go with the psp. looking into one myself. you can get a sandisk 4gb memory pro duo for less than $50 and it'll hold bookoo movies and mp3's on it. just need to find software to convert movies to mp4, i believe. screen is widescreen and larger than ds by far. good resolution. i would imagine the wifi internet browsing capability of the psp is better than the ds.
psp has a newer version out now. the 2000 i believe. look into it. smaller and lighter.

PSP all the way. Great little product. I sold mine right here on this form because I never really had time to play it.
