Ok so, im clueless and ambitious

Im buying a

Sub Boost Control 10 Band Equalizer

1000W 20ft Amp Lifier/amp Wiring Hookup Kit

2 12" pyramid 2400W (total so, 1200W seperate)Subs

Pyle 2 Chan 1400W Mosfet Car Amp

2 6 1/2" Speakers KFC-1690IE

My question is whether i will need either a cap or an alternator?

and is the amp compatable with both sub and EQ?

and do i even need the EQ?

And do i need to buy anything else not mentioned?

How much are you willing to spend cause frankly bro, those are flea market brands youre talking about. Those amps are more like 500 watts maybe and those subs would catch on fire if you tried to push 1200 watts thru them.

You get what you pay for in electronics and if youre willing to pay a little more, you can have an outsanding system. Give us an idea of a budget and we'll see what we can hook you up with.

Like Mac said, there's no way in hell you'd see those power ratings from any pyle or pyramid equipment... Even if they got struck by lightning I'd give it a 50/50 of whether or not you'd see that much power :p If you truly want to be ambitious give us a price range and we'll see what we can suggest

Oh well thank god for two things,
this rating and the fact that they dont let me pick up

anyway my budget for a system that needs to work (amp, subs and maybe converter unless amp has converter) is $160

    its limited, i know :(

    $160?!?!

Jesus dude, that aint gonna buy you anything at all unless youre literally browsing thru flea markets.

You should really save up a little more and get some decent stuff. Hell, $500 would be 1000 times better. At least with that you could get some solid entry level gear, but for $160 youre not gonna get anything really.

A system for $160 - its pretty safe to say, youll be the only one with one of those.

Youd probably be better off going down to Walmart or Autozone and seeing what theyve got.

One thing for sure, with a $160 system, you definitely wont need a cap or alternator.

This is the best deal I can come up with on short notice and in good conscience. Two 12" Clarion subs for $100 shipped.

Run it with this 400 watt Clarion amp for $130 shipped.

Thats $30 over your budget but its the best youre gonna get and still have good quality, brand new in the box and straight from the manufacturer and fully authorized.

hey 30 dollars is not to bad
now i noticed that its mono amp is that gonna be any problem with running and hooking up these amps or is everything gonna be good?
and i noticed that the woofers on the subs are paper/fiberglass hows the durability on that? cuz i know paper durability sucks

and would i need a wiring kit? my guess is yes

and thanks so much by the way

Mono will be hooked up just like any other. Youre just going to wire both subs positive to the amps positive and the subs negative to the amps negative.

Those cones will be fine. They wont be the most durable in the world, but then again theyre only $50. Still they will sound good and be have good output and theyre good quality gear. Much better than some Pyle stuff.

If you can find a dirt cheap wiring kit on Ebay, grab that. Wire is wire for the most part.

x2 on the speakers Elapso or whatever his name is linked to. They wont be the best sounding speakers in the world but theyll sound better than the stock ones and theyre only $32!

But for $50 + shipping you can have these Clarions so you could keep everything the same brand which I like to do.

4 way speakers are stupid. Why do you need 3 tweeters per speaker???

All it does is screw up the sound and have you paying for 4 extra components you DONT NEED!

How many high end home audio speakes have 3 tweeters per speaker? None.

    A "beefy 1.5" midrange?" LMFAO

So yeah, $50 Clarion 2 ways over $60 Pioneer 4 ways.

And yes, those are $50 a pair.

o i know that, just my experience with pioneer 4 ways, which is owning a pair myself, my bro having a pair and recently my friend having a pair, they drive the music very well including the bass, its clean, the mids are kinda poor, but thats why u throw some 2 ways in the rear, im pretty picky when it comes to electronics, my TVs have to have a really high black level, my computer have to be the best or close to it when i build them, and when my dad gets a surround sound system or i help out friends with car stereos, we only want crisp clean clarity, i found that these little pioneers provide that.

yikes, this thread gave me a headache reading and brings sadness.

For $160 stick with the factory stuff for now. Go mow some lawns, pick some weeds, paint a few houses and get yourself $400-$500 to play with thus giving yourself a bit more of a market to play in.

You gotta pay to play, and $160 just isn't gonna pay and you won't be happy with the end result.

2 ways pretty much always sound better than 3 or 4 ways.

Why would you want to split the high frequencies between 3 different drivers?? That makes no sense.

To get the best sound you ideally want as few drivers as possible. A 6.5" midrange can play 40-4500 Hz easily and well. A typical 2" tweeter can play 2000-20,000 Hz easily and well. And by using only 2 drivers you drastically lessen the chance of any cancellation or phasing issues. Splitting the high end frequencies between 3 seperate drivers throws all that out the window.

And that beefy 1.5" midrange is a tweeter. A midrange speaker that wont play below 1000 Hz is NOT a midrange speaker and Ive never seen a 1.5" driver than can without it sounding like a kazoo.

Its a marketing gimick pure and simple.

Like I said before, Ill give you $1000 for any SQ competition car, any reference level or any home audio system or any recording studio monitor system using "super tweeters". You aint gonna find any and there is a reason for it.
