Or at least had a thought !

have been listening to XM Radio for some time now (watercolors 71), and when I switch to CDP to play some CD`s, it is not as ......as.......

analytical..?
tight....crisp...etc.

Now I know that my CDP is a tube output, and my Pre amp is tube,...amp is SS..

So I get it now ..(I think)
I need to get a MF A-5 CDP to hear what I`m looking for...:D

Right ?!

    quick question...

is a transport / dac better than just the A5 cdp ?

kW DM25 DAC / kW DM25 Transport ....This is what I was thinking of

problem is...if I go too far up the food chain, will my Amp / Pre amp be able to play nicely withit`s new siblings ?

Are you saying your cdp sounds worse than XM? I had XM for 2 weeks and sold the receiver because it sounded so bad.

Cool...I listen to Watercolors pretty much all the time. Sounds pretty good on the upstairs system.

My guess is the KW combo might sound better than the XM receiver. :D

The kW DM25 DAC / kW DM25 transport is better than the A5. Whether your other gear will play nicely can only be answered by trying it.
