Dynmat CAN short a speaker connection if it is touch both positive and negative correct?

    I believe the foil covering can be conductive...

    Ya know, Ive never thought about it but it is an but it is an aluminum backing so I would say yes it could be possible.

    well i mean its on my rear deck, and my speaker is pushed through the hole Tight as a virgin on prom night, which is a good thing of course, just the speaker doesnt play music when i connect it to the head unit, so im thinking thats what it is.

    lol thats what i was planning on doing, dont sass me. BUt i wanted to make sure that it WAS possible for dynamat to short out a speaker.

    I did not want to take a chance, so I always made sure that the area around the connections were clear of at least the foil part.

    and on a side note, it is also a bad idea to put it in the microwave to heat it up, just in case you were wondering.

    When I was doing my floor in the winter, I would start the truck and put my damplifier under the hood to heat it up.

    a heatgun will be fine, as it will make the mat more malleable. However, I think what exalted512 was getting at is that the alluminium in the microwave would cause that arcing seen when putting metallic items in :)
