Hello.

I live in Russia Moscow and I've decided to upgrade my stock music on my 07 Ford Fiesta. So far i have purchased Alpine 9881 Polk DB6501 amp Cadence zrs1004.
I freaken fall in love with polk front speakers they really bring rich towns in Electronic music, but now i want do add a sub woofer and in my country dealers cant really tell anything on how polk MM2124 sounds like for electronic music, instead they recommend me Kicker vcvr124 and they cost 40 or so $ more the polks but that don't matter.
So could some one tell me there experience with those subs plz. i only plan on putting 1 sub in my trunk. how do polks or kicker 1x sub sound like? also is it a ok to have different brands front and sub will they blend?

P.s my setup is 2x100 4ohm polkdb6501 and 400watts for sub in bridge mode.
Also would i need a capacitor for this setup?

    first link is broken.
It is fine to have diffrent brand speakers from your sub, u just wana have the same brand speakers.
As far as the momo Subs for electronic music, i player water polo and have a few Euro friends, mostly polish and serbian, and i listen to my share of techno and trance and sometimes they bring there music in my car, I have 2 10" mom subs in a sealed box and they sound great with that kind of music, its very clean, and hits hard, hard enough for u to feel your hair vibrate when u roll the windows up :)

    thanks eloplayspolo for the info)

I've decided to buy 1xmm2114 and in a month will get 1 more, today i went to a studio and listned to british SUB called VIBE 12" EVO II its 550wRMS but i only have 400wrms bridge available and it bounced good but its much higher priced then polks but it cant deliver solid base on hi volume playing trance-psy but its good for rap, it was a Vented box version but u can also use a plug that it comes with to make it a closed box sub, but any how as i heard kicker is good for RAP hip-hop as well.

Ill be going POlk once more ) will reply on how it will sound once i purchase it)

what kinda music do u listen to? The smaller you go the tighter its going to hit depending on your box.

A 15 will have better low end frequency due to having more cone area. If youre just wanting sheer output and not concerned with sound quality as much, Id go with the 15.

A 12 is the best mix of the bunch. Plenty of cone area so you get good output and low end extension but still good sounding bass (usually).

All around a 12 inch sub is the best for good output and decent sound quality. I think the reason people have so much trouble blowing 10 inch subs is they are trying to get to much output from them. A 10 inch sub just can't put out the kinda bass most folks desire and they end up over driving them trying to get ground shaking bass. Thats why you hear so much from people about the surround coming apart from the cone.

    Got it.

Mostly i listen to House, Trance-Psychedelica so 15" good for rap, and 12 will be ideal then, thanks all.)

Now really whats left to figure out is sealed box or open box for that sub

    Here are 2 to variants:

Hey just wanna know if anybody can tell me what the difference between the SR subs and the db212-2? I've heard the db212-2 hooked up to a Punch 1000.1 and they hit really hard. In my opinion harder than Kicker Comp VR 12's. I'm just wondering what they're sound quality is like, because in my opinion the db212-2 are more for SPL instead of SQ which is what I'm looking for.

The DB's are built more for SPL but they are still an SQ sub. Ive seriously thought about using them in my SQ system. I would stack them up agaisnt ANY premade box out there for not only SPL but also SQ.

The DB's sound damn good for the money. I'm still in shock? I never would of thought the DB's would be able to get that loud.
