Is anybody willing or able to share with me a list of the caps and resistors they used for upgrading their SDA-1C crossovers? It would be much appreciated. I'd really like to compare some notes that I have with what others have done, and reduce my own chances of making a mistake when I go to do mine in the very near future.

Thanks, all.

Call jeff @ sonicraft,he will hook you up,,,he should have a copy of the sda1 c crossover,as I sent him one,,if not e-mail me and I'll send it to you.Use the search function at the top of the screen,as many here, have performed this upgrade.Me,, I prefer sonicaps&mills resistors, and it's up to you to decide if you want to keep the 750pf silver mica,,,or bypass it.If you plan on keeping the polyswitches,,then replace them as well, while you have the crossover out,,they can be had from polk for the price of a phone call...good luck,,and there is alot to be said about "dry fit" before you solder,,as there is not alot of space on those boards in relationship to the newer caps. All in all,I think that you will find it a relatively easy project with worthwhile sonic benefits---good luck,, and post some pic's as you go. :)

SDA x-over schematics are in a sticky in this forum. Always be sure to have a peek at your x-over to make sure it's exactly as on the schematic. Sometimes transitional models had slight changes on the fly. 1C's had 2 different models early models had blade/blade cable later models had pin/blade cable. They also split the x-over in (2) boards at some point.

I second the call to Jeff @ Sonic Craft. He may make some other suggestions which may or maynit need to do.

Good luck----it will transform the speakers. Get the RD0's if you don't already have them.

I concur. The sheets are a great reference point and are typically going to be right but I would still pull the passive radiator out and look at each one inside. If memory serves correct, I think there was a 4.4uf cap between the bottom side of the crossover and the terminal cup itself. At least there was on mine. Sonicaps are probably the best overall but I have used Solen caps with great results. And, they are a good choice for the money. YMMV.

Solens are definetly more cost effective and will get you 90-95% there. A huge improvement over the aging stock parts. You could do what was done to my 1C's and have the Sonic Caps for the high pass and Solens for the low pass.

I've used all Solens in another Polk speaker with great results.
