More stuff in the company's tech support has been outsourced. If I talk to just one
more clueless MF that has no idea what I'm talking about, I'll go postal!
Not only are they useless, they feel a need to over document stuff.
After I fix it myself, then they keep calling to find out what I did.
I just spent an hour on the phone, then had to spell it out in an
Email to get him to go away. If it wasn't required, I would never call them.
And it was after work hours, too. They have called me on my cell in the middle of
the night for this crap. This is cost savings???
The only real requirement is to have a degree and minimal English skills.
No H/w or software knowledge required.

I feel ya pain bro. I've got it worse. All the workers are h1b's. At least they're technically competent, more or less.

Our helpdesk is going to Costa Rica at the end of the year. I can just imagine what the tickets that they send me are going to look like.

You'd be surprised on how smart Costa Ricain people are. I can't remember the stats but they have a smaller % of people who can't read than lots of major countries. First hand can tell you they are very hard working people. -
It's not smart, It's trained and knowledgable. The guy that I talked to
had no real idea what I was talking about. NONE AT ALL.
He was just writing things down. He has never seen, or touched the
equipment. That's not much of a product support line."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
