Just got in a spool of 14AWG 4 strand Canare wire to run my surrounds:D . My queston is, when I solder on the bananas should I set it up in a Bi-Wire configuration? Or will it not make enough difference with them being surrounds? I know these bi-wiring questions are about wore out but just wanted you guys advice before I did all the work. Thanks in advance for the help....................EFW:cool:

I would try single run, bi-wire and a double run (just hooking both wires to one post making 8-strand, 11 guage wire). Not all together - three different tests... :)

Your own ears will tell you much better than we can what will work and sound good in your system. Once you do the test - we would love to hear about your conclusions though.....

EF, as you comment, the bi-wiring topic is "wore out"(or at least it should be, since the process has no factual basis), but briefly, the only difference is that the wiring is separated(but still carries the full range of audio frequencies)as it leaves the amplifier rather than as it enters the speaker. This can result in no audible difference.

move it along.. nothing to see here...

bi wiring surrounds? not worth the time, effort, expense, and nothing to gain.

very little actual sound effects come out of a surround/rear speaker, enough to even make the slightest bit of difference. use good quality 12 or 14 guage single run wire to your surrounds, kick back and enjoy.

+1 A good 12 gauge single to the rears is all that is needed.

I wouldn't bother bi-wiring rears unless you have money to throw away.
