Capacitor and Resistor Selection

Where do you tweakers usually buy your high quality electronics components?

I'm in need of a few capacitors and resistors to make loading and gain adjustments on a Sutherland PH-2000 phono preamp. I would really like them to be high quality tight tolerance components.

Thanks

    Another question.

How do I determine what type (Electrolytic, Film, Ceramic, etc....) of capacitor to get?

For the type of project you're talking about, I'd go to Digikey or Mouser Electronics as they will probably have more selection of the kinds of parts in the exact values you need. Parts Express is good for crossover parts and speaker building hardware, but they don't stock the sheer number/variety of passive electronics parts.

For resistors, Vishay metal film are supposed to be the best. Caps, you can use Wima Polys or Panasonic Polys.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I've ordered from Mouser a couple times and it's been great. I like the site, way easier to find what you're looking for than digikey. I like that you can set up an account and have a "project manager" and can add components to it, leave, and then come back at a later time and finish adding items to the project. It beats writing down part numbers.
