My wife came home today from the goodwill with a couple of CD's. Now, she knows that I like my good old classic rock, but she couldn't resist getting these CD's. They are called Best Audiophile Voices ll and lll. Wow! They are filled with some of the best female singers.
Most of the music is light jazz, and the singers are awesome. They are remastered recordings. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with these discs. The wifey is going back tomorrow to see if she can find disc l. I have found a new style of music that I like.:D

I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
Those are the ones I am thinking of. From what I can tell, these are compilations licensed and put together by the Singapore distributor of the original recordings (Premium Records). There're 4 separate compilations released, with various versions of each such as XRCD and gold CD. -
Thats the ones. Now I just just need to find #l. -

Yes she is.:D -
I see on album III there is 15. Auld Lange Syne/ Bring It On Home To Me - Rebecca Pidgeon
I love her rendition of spanish harlem on worlds greatest audiophile recordings by chesky records.
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -
Since you already have volume II and III, here you go....
Best Audiophile Voices (XRCD version)
Best Audiophile Voices
Best Audiophile Voices IV
Best Audiophile Voices Selection -
Hmmmm no Amanda McBroom? If that is the case I think they are missing someone.

Big thumbs up on that song. I really like her voice. -
Didnt she write the ROSE for Bette Midler?

Growing Up in Hollywood Town
Amanda McBroom - Dreaming on XRCD. "Growing Up in Hollywood Town" is on XRCD24. -

I have both on vinyl and they have magnificent sonics. When recording "Dreaming" all equipment was connected with Monster cable. I have to tell you, I have many many Amada LPs and this Gecko recording is by far the best. Monster's Noel Lee must have pulled all the stops out. -
Ghost in This House is a great song, but the recording on "Alison Krauss and Union Station Live" is my torture test for midrange harshness. She's borderline screechy a couple of times (e.g., "I don't keep this place up/I just keep the lights dim") on almost all speakers I've heard it on. The Quad ESL-57s handle it perfectly. My TQWTs do a good job now with phase plugs on the 40-1354s. The ads L710s do a good job too. It's an ear gouger on most other speakers I've tried; it was even borderline on SACD on a pair of Edgarhorn Titans with some very nice (TAD or JBL) compression drivers.
