I have the Toshiba HD-DVD player. It works great for movies but when I play a cd it had slight pauses. The music still plays but there is a pause.
Anyone have any idea.

I'd using a cleaning disc or something.

My bedroom HD-A2 had issues playing HD-DVDs without skipping, would play SD DVDs and CDs just fine. Had to send it in to get it fixed.

I'd try one of those cheap $10 lense cleaners just to be sure it's not just some dust.

When I had my Pioneer DV-59avi, I couldn't get it to play the SACD layer of any combo discs. I would read everything else fine, and it would play SACD only discs fine. I must have messed with the settings for hours over a 2 month period, rewired, posts all over the web. After all that, I used a 5 year old scotch lense cleaning disc and it worked perfectly after that.

i had that issue also but when i updated it went away. maybe your firmware is not entirely up to date? lens cleaners won't work because the laser is also used for movies, which you stated work just fine.
