Robert Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time series, died today at 58 from a rare blood disease that causes the wall of the heart to harden. He was a tremendous writer, possibly the best fantasy writer since Tolkien, certainly he had the greatest scope of any of todays writers.Im not sure what the fate of book 12, supposedly the final book in the series, will be.

I wish his family well, and raise my glass to a hell of a storyteller.

i stopped reading at book 9, but refused to read on until there was an end.

I guess he was milking it till he died.
