Found a demo Velodyne Spl1000R in gloss black at my local tweeter for $688.

It was flawless, has a 1k watt amp and full factory warranty. I had to purchase it. Gotta cancel my order for the polk psw1000 now... What do you guys think?

Hopefully in a couple of days, I'll post pics of my lsi theater with the new spl.

I listened to some music and watched Casino Royale last night. The SPL sounded pretty good compared to my old velodyne that I had.

I would have stayed with the Polk. More musical IMO. The Velo probably hits 'harder' though.

I did a side by side with the Polk at the store. The Velo has a 1000watt class D amp and digs lower. It sounded better to me for music and also movies.

The remote was a cool feature as well that includes a mic and presets for different types of listening...Plus its literally 12x12 or so

Its a sealed enclosure with a magnet the size of a dog-house. More musical? Only if you've got a shrunken Elvis in that box! :)
