I started bidding on one to go with my vt-60.
Not much info on it other than basics. Hybrid pre
with no remote. Lots of hits, one guy loves it, another
hates it, and that's it. Just two opinions.
Anyone one here have ear time with one?

Not much love here for AR?"The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson

I love my AR pre (Sp16L); the ls1 is one of their first (or the first) line stages. I have not heard it, but ARC has VERY good stuff. If the price is right, I'd go for it.
From Audiogon's Blue Book:
New: $1,675
Used Average: $500
Last: $350
Good luck._________________________________________________

SOPAThank God for different opinions. Imagine the world if we all wanted the same woman -
I have heard some of the newer stuff.
This model seems not to get as much respect because of being a hybrid.
The vt-60 was a great find. Much different than SS. Yet it doesn't
sound "tubey". Seems to be a contradiction, but it adds to the sound
without really having a classic tube sound.
Tube pre's seem to bring a premium. I've got a Dynaco PAS II,
but to bring it up to modern standards would be a lot of expense
and work."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson
