yeah, my cat just jumped out of a second story window and lived. sweet.

She must've really wanted to go outside... cuz now she won't come back in.

She seems fine, though.

And I thought I had a lot to drink.
Ludicrous gibs!

I've seen cats jump off third floor balconies before and just keep on running.

No, they used to duke it out at some apartments I lived at back in the day. I'd drink beer and watch, and eventually one would either get knocked off, or just make a running leap.

First time I saw it, scared the you know what out of me.

It seems from the responses that the owners are generally drinking and the cats are going out the windows. Sounds a little fishy to me.

Oh, she came back in later that night. She gets hungry and then she wants back in. Stupid cat. I wouldn't have her except I was told I had to take her to the new house.

She costs me money I'd rather not spend on a pet right now...

She ran out the door at some point tonight. I can't find her, and I'm going to bed. It'll be a cold night, with lows in the mid 30's. Maybe she'll learn this time.

    No, probably not.

If my cat tried to jump out a window, he would hit the wall beside the window. That's only amusing to those of you who have met my cat.

I heard the other day that a cat has a better chance at surviving a fall from ten stories than a fall from two or three stories. The higher the distance, the better the chance a cat has at "righting" itself before impact.

Its been proven in a few studies already. I'm not sure how reliable it is b/c I believe they just took in accounts from people that have had their cats jump out of windows instead of doing it the scientific way--getting about 200 cats and throw 10 of them out of a window of each story and recording it that way.

 It might be able to right itself. However, the impact could/would most likely end up with the cat breaking legs, hips, etc!

Lets use some common sense here!
