My laptop came with a program called "Sonic RecordNow!". It is a very basic burning program that is very easy to use.
I also have Nero which has a huge amount of options and can take a little more time to get used to.
The RecordNow program is simple, however, you may want to look into something with a little more options for future projects.

Nero, Roxio, Sonic, hell even windows xp comes with burning software for CDs by default, just use windows media player. All the same but I'd saying the windows xp one is easiest to use.

But when I burn a cd and a friend uses it in his computer, there are no song titles recorded at all.
How can I fix this???
Thanks"Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." Bob Seger -
You mean the title and artist information?
You can't fix that. Audio CDs do not hold that information. You could burn a disc full of MP3s, which would keep that info but you wouldn't be able to play it in your car or on standard CD players (unless they had MP3 capability). If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Steve I will also add if you are doing your own ripping then Exact Audio Copy (EAC) is the absolute best ripping program out there if you want bit perfect rips every time. It's free ware, safe to download, etc. I've used it exclusively for years.
Here's a link.
Wikipedia for some background info:

It's virtually flawless when ripping (grabbing) audio files.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Arg!
But thanks!"Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then." Bob Seger -
For EAC newbies using mp3's, this is a great link for setting it up. http://chrismyden.com/bestmp3guide.php
Modify the instructions accordingly if you don't want to use mp3 format. Remember, EAC also does WAVE. Technically, it does wave first and encodes to mp3 on the fly.
As for burners, I mostly use Nero Express. Probably out of habit more than anything else. -

I find if I add the ID3 tag info after ripping (I use winamp, but Windows Media player will let you do the same thing) to add artist/song title info, whether I burn an .mp3 or regular .wav disk, the titles still show on my Alpine (car) and my wife's Sony (home), and the disks play fine on both counts. Older CD players won't support this feature, but many from this decade do.
I've actually purchased a few retail audio CDs that contain track info as well.
