I have someone interested in some gear that I have listed on Audiogon. He is wondering if I am willing to ship to France. I asked him what method he would be willing to use for payment. His response was "I use direct bank transfer to your account
Fast and no fees for you"

Are there any risks associated with this?

Thanks,
Mike

You might have to pay a fee for the bank transfer ($15 or so), but my real concern would be to provide my account number. Make him use Western Union or something like that. I sold a Jolida CDP to someone in Mexico, and I got the payment via W.U. in minutes.

I don't think you can go wrong with a bank to bank transfer. Go for it, when the funds are in your bank, that's it, they're there and they were sent from another bank. I've done bank to bank many times before.
