Hi guys,

I was just looking for some recommendations for multi-channel amps. I am looking for 5-7 channels. I am not lloking for pricing that is astronomical. I am actually looking for a good value. I am familiar with Pass Labs, BAT, Arcam, Integra, Cary, Classe', Krell. Any other recommendations?

I do more movie watching than music.

I am using Von Schweikert speakers for my set-up. I am not a fan of "brightness", if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance.

Outlaw Audio, Rotel, Parasound, Adcom, Nad, Sunfire.

All of these companies make very good amplifiers. If you are willing to go used check out Audiogon. You will get more bang for your buck that way.

I always recommend getting at least 200wpc for power. That will drive any speaker you have now or in the future.
Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

For movies I highly recommend the Earthquake Cinenova 5 channel amp. It works well for music too but I would not pick it for music only.

Outlaw 7500 or 7700, this amp is well built, weighs 95 lbs, and is excellent for both music and movies, we probably use it for 70% music, SACD/Redbook & 30% HDTV & Movies (HD and regular movies).

Love our Carver for 2 channel listening and both the Carver and Outlaw for Multi-channel, TV, Movies. The Outlaw is not at all bright with our LSI's, and melts together acoustically quite nicely with the Carver.

For that kind of money you could get anything you want on the used market.
Audiogon has a new B&K 200.7 closeout on there now for $2100.00 or a nice lexicon 140wpc new for $3600.00
