I am pondering the thought of selling my rt800's to buy some rti10's but have no way to audition the rti10's. I was just wondering what some of your thoughts on the two were. Any information would be appreciated.

Have never heard the RT800's but know the RTi-10s well. They are on the bright side for music but for HT are perfect for me. I found they are sensitive to the source and bad recordings. In my case I had some junk monster cables running from my CD to receiver and it was way too bright. Put some audioquest interconnects there instead and it was much better but still a little bright.

No brightness on my 10's, phenomenal muscially on tubes or solid state. Solid, full range performer.

    Cheers,

my RT800i's have never sounded bright to me... they sound very full. but bright isn't something I would call mine.

Maybe my slight brightness is due to my source, a Yamaha CD player, or something in my signal chain then? One of the reson's I got the B&K amp was becasue of its "tube like sound". If I listen to compressed music, like on a cable music channel, I notice it. Will have to start working on the wife for approval to upgrade my CD player :).

I thougt my rt800s were to bright thats why I was thinking of changing. I had a yamaha receiver and yamaha cd dvd player as the source. I went from a sony cd dvd player to the yamaha and there was a world of difference. I'll be going to a old rotel amp and pre amp processor to try and warm things up a bit, I hope it helps. This will also be my first chance to try seperates.:)
