Is 90W enough for rti8 and csi5?

I currently have an older Denon AVR-1804 with polk csi20 center, r30 fronts, and r15 surrounds (two side and one rear). I also have a homemade sub (10" vented sub with 250W plate amp). With the current prices on the rti line, I am considering upgrading my front stage. My receiver is rated at 90W x 6 (high current, I think). Will this be enough power to run rti8's up front with a csi5? I have a large living room (17.5' wide by 29.5' deep) and my current setup up isn't able to produce like I want it to, except for the sub. Thanks in advance.

will it work? Yes. As to how good? that depends and what consider good. For what they are selling now, it's almost a no brainer.

Bigger speakers will help but my guess is you would probably find them lacking as well in a room that big. Does that Denon have pre-outs to add an external amp?

Yes it does, but only a pair for stereo. That is the reason why I didn't consider the rti10, I understand that an amp would be a must (pretty much) and I'm not ready to take that step yet. The real problem is with my current center in 5.1 or 6.1. Stereo is not too bad, and my sub pleases me. I thought the rti6 would be a step in the wrong direction for fronts.

Also, I just realized that I will need to raise my wall mounted plasma about an inch to clear the csi5. I didn't realize that it was that big:( .It's not that big of a deal, just a pain.

Well you can do this in steps, get the speakers now since they are going cheap and upgrade the eletronics later. You are right that the RTi-10s like a lot of power but IMO almost any speaker will benefit from an external amp. That is a great center and I think you will like it and would pair well with the RTi-8s. I would get the 8s over the 6s.

FWIW, I ran my 8s and a 3 on my yammie rated at 70wpc(BS) then on my HK 335, it worked, my room was not as big as yours. But give em juice and Bang !! they came to life
