two center channels

is it possible to run two center channels without killing an amp? i have a pioneer elite vsx-80txv and a def tech cx-1 that i wish to run with another center channel. can this be done?

    I used to run two center channels (bookshelf speakers) on a Pioneer Elite - bare wire on one and bananas on the other both hooked up to the center channel binding post on the receiver. It sounded fuller than the standard MTM style center channel, IMO. Of course, make sure the center channels are identical.

    I found the dialogue not to be as crisp using 2 centers. I went back to one.
