I have made a lot of changes over the past few weeks thanks to good ideas from mayn members who posted in the last thread regarding my setup. Please have a look again and tell me what you think now that I have it set up more properly.

The bookshelf on the left I probably would move. It is to close th the RTi8. Very nice setup. I take it the surround setup seating is farther back in the room. If there is a way of centering the computer speaker setup on that wall it would be better. The reflections of that speaker next to wall will not match the other speaker very well. Just trying to be helpful.

Also, the larger speakers do not work as well in the nearfield. I hope you are sitting back far enough when you watch movies. A set of nearfield monitors would work best for that type of computer setup... especially if you listen to music while on the PC.

Thanks for the input! About the bookcase, it is going away as soon as I can sell the model car collection on it ;) . The surround area is quite far back, and I've had a bit of trouble trying to get the sound balanced back there. I believe the EZSetEQ that came with my amplifier has done a fairly good job of making the necessary adjustments to the left channel since it is quite isolated back there.

Could you please provide me with some info on these moniter speakers? What are they? Are polk "moniters" actually moniters. And yes, I do listen to music while I sit at the computer, but I also listen back on my couch.

    Thanks again.

i wouldnt buy another speaker if I were you, keep what you have. Try toeing in your fronts just a little. And from there, I would just sit back and enjoy what I have if I were you. Room looks very good, considering the fact you have a small amount of space to work with, I say job well done. Just IMHO.

Thank you Shereardp :D I will try and move them up. Should I angle them in or keep them square?

Angle them in a bit, move that bookcase, and Yes, if you sit back far enough the towers should work as intended... When I said nearfield monitors, I meant smaller speakers that are designed to work well when you are very close to them. Many people in the recording buisness use nearfield monitors when they are working on the computer or the mixing console... basically they need speakers that are going to sound good when they are right there in your face.

99% of the time, if I am listening to music, I am at my computer, so I have nearfield monitors. You already have everything set up pretty nicely for movies... if you want to get really into some music one night, just sit back on the couch :)

You have a nice little Home Theater in there.

Yashu hit the nail right on the head, angle your fronts in just a little. You should notice improvement.

Yes that is very true. You got the idea... I was going to type a bunch of stuff in my last post about how speakers beam soundwaves and that you should not have anything blocking their intended path. I left it out because I wasn't sure how to explain it. You got the right idea. That is why we wanted you to move the bookcase.

Ya, well, I'll move it back for starters, and hope it doesn't then interfere with the surrounds :( But I'll soon be able to get rid of it altogethor :)
