Year, make, model: 1980 AMC Spirit (2WD...not 4 and not the "cool" GT model)
    2/4 door: 2 door hatchback
    Engine: 4.2l inline 6 IIRC; 5 speed
    Color: Blue
Purchase price: $2000 I think. Grandfather paid for it if I would sell my motorcycle (Yamaha SECA 900). Shoulda waited to see what I was gonna get stuck with.
    Year purchased: 1982
    Year sold: 1983
Pic? Not of mine but here's what they looked like. (again, mine wasn't as "cool" but it had a stereo in it!)
Lost virginity in it? Not me personally, but a couple of the opposite sex did. :D

I think I kept this car for about 6 months and I hated it. I sold it and bought a 66 Ford P/U and built a "hot rod" of sorts.

What's interesting here is that more than a few Polkies have Ramblers or AMC vehicles as their first car. Obviously, because these pieces of junk were cheap and plenty available. I had one as my second car. Purchased it in 1971 for $400. It had a 287 V-8, fully reclinable fron seats:D , power steering and I put in an AM/FM, 8-track stereo (which was stolen). It was a great running car. Mine was black with a red interior.

Mine also had fully reclinable front seats, using a lever that went up and down; it was like a king size bed!!!!! :)

Year, make, model: 1971 AMC Gremlin, with the "Weather eye" heater, 3 speed with a reverse that popped out of gear, vacuum windshield wipers, manual steering, no A/C, but I put in a damn fine after-market Pioneer stereo. All in all, few cars can compete with the Gremlin as being the all-time worst car.
    2/4 door: 2 Door, with a hatchback
Engine: 232 straight six (these were made by Buick as AMC manufactured few motors on there own)
Color: Red with the obligatory black "racing" stripes
    Purchase price: $400
Year purchased: September 1976, shortly after my 14th birthday as I could drive up north back then.
Year sold: 1977 (I have owned about 30+ cars since then)
Pics? Plenty - this thing was a local legend. The "Gremlizine".
Lost virginity in it? Kidding me? I must have had some real appeal for any self-respecting female to even get into that car. We had to wire the driver's seat so it wouldn't flop into the back seat.

'74 Corvette L-82 350/auto, black in color (but originally silver)
Bought in '86 beat all to hell (actually caught on fire while we were test-driving it:eek:, but that's another story)
    Paid about $2K
Worked on it for a year and first drove it in Sept. of 1987, my senior year in high school.
Drove it all through college and put about 80,000 miles on it (had 110K when I got it)
Sold it in 1999 for $4000, in much better shape than when I got it, but still a long way from being "restored".
Lost virginity in it? Not exactly, ha ha. But it DID attract girls..

I miss that car. Personally, I think the C3 shark-shape Vettes are some of the best-looking cars ever.

I'll post a picture of it if I can find one.
