Skip the 674 and snag yourself a 605. It adds full support for high-res audio formats via HDMI 1.3, does video upconversion with Faroudja DCDI, and still gets you 90w/ch. And if you add to cart over at jr.com, I think you'll be pleased with the price. ;)
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector
Elite Screens Sable 120" CineWhite screen

I doubt you will hear much of a difference by going from Onkyo's 75 wpc to 95wpc. I'd suggest adding an external amp and using your current avr as a preamp. If your avr doesn't have pre-outs then I'd upgrade to the HK you mentioned and get an amp later down the road.

I went from an Onkyo 503 to an HK635 and WOW! Night and day difference. The HK had a significantly better amp than the 502. It sounded more refined, warm and rich.
