Even if it's "true", the numbers and stats are displayed in a way to MAKE you afraid of them. There's no reason to have "world temp" go out to TEN decimal places except to make the number seem like it's shooting up. If it went out to EIGHT decimal places, you would see a digit change every several minutes or hours and not think about it.

It's a good illustration of how displaying "real" numbers in different ways can produce varying reactions.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Talking about the Earth Temp thing....

It'd take 131-1/3 years for it to FINISH increasing to 15*C. From 14.6067xxxxx.

I think we have some time to worry about that problem.

Well, it is kind of valid, I mean it appears to be the #1 stoppage of life on the clock....

Well, depending on who you talk to, we'll never get to 15...

There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin
