Polk Audio RTA 15TL tweeter Problem.

Hello,
I have recently accuired a pair of RTA 15TL speakers. I tried them out and found that they have no top end treble at all. I have tested the SL3000 tweeters with an OHM meter and they read as open or no continuity.
Does anyone know what they are supposed to read with an OHM meter?
If these tweeters are bad, where can I find the best deal on OEM replacement tweeters?

Thanks for any help.

Call Polk Audio customer service at 1-800-377-7655 to order the replacement RD0-198 tweeters for your SL3000's. They are a soft dome tweeter that everyone in here that uses they raves about. Big difference over the existing stock tweeters for most people. I believe that the impedance on the SL3000's is around 5.6-ohm per the Polk SDA Compendium but I could be mistaken. That would typically give you a reading of somewhere in that range with a DMM.

Great speakers. I wish I could find a pair locally...just to have! Welcome to Club Polk!

    Thanks for the information!
I really don't know what to do with these speakers.
I don't want to spend much money on them.
I know that to ship them anywhere would cost a fortune and endanger them.
Any suggestions or offers? I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I have uploaded some pictures of them to my free Putfile account.

Keep them and enjoy them. Don't try to sell them on your second post! That's a Club Polk no-no!

Yeah, put them out on the curb. Where you live, they'll be gone in under 60 seconds.

Why would you not want to spend about $100 on them? that's about what the price of two tweeters would be to bring them back to life.

they originally sold for $700 msrp.

worth keeping if they were mine.

If you bought them I assumed you wanted to keep them. If you didn't, WTH did you get them.

If it was just to turn over, go elsewhere with them.

Sorry to cause any ill feelings about me and my ententions for these speakers. I did not sign up with Club Polk just to sell them. The sad truth about these speakers is that someone else left them in their apartment storage closet when they moved out. They were abandoned and I saved them from the landfill. I would love to hear them in all of their glory. I didn't realize they were collectable until I came here and read all of the feedback on them.
    Thanks for all the input.

Well since you got them for free, it would be worth it for you to cough up the small amount of money to get them fully operational! Those are some great speakers that fell into your lap, they will give you endless hours of enjoyment.
