RTi10 system
I am looking to buy a Polk speaker system combined with one of the newer/higher end AV receivers such as a Yamaha rx-v3800 or the new Denon 380CI - i would like the power and the ehternet and USB capability. Anyway, am looking at the RTi10's, the CSi5, the PSW 505 sub and for the rear - and the reason for this choice for the rear is because of trying to mount these FROM the ceiling (actually a soffet) in my basement, the Atrium 60's - actually an outdoor speaker. i can't have the speaker hang down low, and so the FSi's are out and i was told it would be better to have a full range speaker rather than a satellite for better rear/surround sound. Any thoughts on this speaker set up when combined with 130w A/V reciever? Specifically too on the Atrium's? Also, how do the Polk's compare with Paradigm's, Monitor 5's to be exact? Thanks so much, I am trying to make decisions within the next couple of days!

thanks for the replies. I was looking at the Atrium because they can be mounted flat-mounted sideways underneath the soffet (I can't put in walls in the soffet) which gives me more headroom and because they seemed to be a bookshelf type equivalent in terms of full range. I do not like the plastic, but figure the white will blend into the ceiling white anyway. How do you think the Atrium 60's would sound as rears vs. the RTi4's? Could the 4's be mounted sideways? Any thoughts on the RTi12's vs. the RTi10's. I have listened to both, and the 10's seemed brighter and more up front than the 12's, but I don't know enough if that had to do with the receiver or what. I am a relative newb getting my first adult sound and video system (ASAP - I can't wait any longer), spending about $3k-3500 on the audio part. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Should I consider a separate amp - this whole concept is new to me as I was just looking for a big honkin' AVR

IMO you may need the separate amp on either RTi10 or RTi12. Denon 3808ci is a great choice. Check AudioGon.com for some deals.
