A buddy of mine is setting up a new system in his basement and of course I recommended Polk... it's the only way to go. Here is the setup

7.1 setup

4 - TC60i round ceiling speakers - for the rear surrounds in the celing.
2 - Lsi7 for the two mains
1 - LsiC for the center

Now original were were going to have everything timbre matched with the CSi5 center and RTi6's for the mains but the entertainment cabinet he got isn't deep enough for these speakers. They would literally be sticking 4 inches out of the cabinet. The lower series did fit (CSi3 and RTi4s) but he knows the price he would pay (in sound quality) by stepping down. So the only resolution would be the LSi series b/c they fit better.

What do you guys think?

Oh and also, what reciever do you think he should get or this setup?

Oh and I'm forcing him to get an SVS sub since I got one... hee hee ;):D
Yamaha HTR-5490, Polk RT1000I, cs4000i, CS175 and R10 .... and a soon to be SVS 20-39 PCI

But bear in mind, if he goes for the LSI's, he will also need the money to buy the power needed to run those 4ohm speakers! So he had better have a receiver that has preouts, or separates.

Yeah, I told him about that. The LSi's are a different beast... definitely would need higher end stuff in order to make them shine. I went over to his house and looked at his setup and we decided that the CSi5 and the RTi6s would be a better choice on a timbre level and money level
