Has anyone built their own amp?

I have an old Onkyo A-7022 that I am thinking of robbing for parts to make a low watt class a amp from. I was just looking for a little guidance, idea and thoughts. It has been about 12 years since I have built anything electronic(using jfets, mosfets, and various chip amps). I have been to a few DIY audio sites, and was wondering if anyone could recommend a site, page, or design to use. I would like to make an amp that is very neutral, and would like to invest as little as possible for my first diy hifi amp. Latter down the road I may try to build something better. If any one can help, I can give you model numbers of the transistors I currently have, or any other components I have on hand.
