I actually knew a guy that did the casting for that movie. He also showed up in the movie for a minute as the guy holding the clipboard when they were checking in for the race.
That's about as close as I get to knowing someone famous.
His name is G.A. Dahlseide... he has a degree of separation from Kevin Bacon of 2... so that makes me a 3! (If you don't know what I'm talking about it's a twist on the 6 degrees of separation that is known as 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon.) -
