Why do you think you need a cap to begin with? If you can answer that question, and feel you need a cap, you should already know the shortcomings in your system and what value you 'need' to compensate.

I have a TE 6001D and got a tsunami cap myself, i went with a 3 farad cap because i had an employee discount and didnt care. it works fine for me, give it a try, 3 farad is enough, most people say 1 farad is all u ever need, if u need one at all.

Caps are Band-aids. Youd be better off going with the Big 3 upgrade and a bigger battery and possibly an alternator upgrade if possible. Then after all that, if youre still having charging issues maybe a cap would be in order.

If you just listen to music at musical levels, your stock charging system will be fine. If youre wanting to be the loudest guy in the high school parking lot then youll probably have some issues.

i have a red top in my car now and a second one sitting around. i was thinking about a cap because its cheaper than an alternator and im not going to keep the car longer than another year and didnt want to invest in a bigger alternator. my car is a 2000 v6 accord. also i have 0 gauge spliting into 4 going to the amps

Well a cap won't do much. I have a tsunami 40 farad cap and everyone who told you that caps are pretty much worthless are correct. I have a 2006 rsx type s with the stock 110 amp alt. I have not done the big three and the electrical system is the same as the day I got the car. It's leased so I don't plan on doing any electrical work. I have a polk c400.4 and a c500.1. I have some light dimming at high volumes even with the cap. The cap only minimized the dimming slightly and thats a 40 farad tsunami cap which is a high quality one. I can't imagine a 1 farad cap doing anything. The lesson is get a new alternator and wiring hehe
