I have always loved piano music. It is a must for me when sitting down for a demo.

Here is a better version of the song with some graphics that may hit home.
    http://spikedhumor.com/articles/9948/The_Piano.html

Also if you want to hear it on your rig, look for the soundtrack to the french movie Amelie. About the only place i know that you'll find it on disc.

The soundtrack CD is awesome, may open your eyes to some not to popular music.

Yeah, I saw that animated version on youtube, too. It seemed rather silly at first, but I think it was a good idea.

My friend has the CD. I'm trying to get him to send me a copy of at least that song.

I'd be interested in reading what's so horrible about his technique.

The fingering looks awkward..wrong....ok maybe horrible was a bit strong but he looks like a self-taught (or close) pianist by his technique.

Ahh, I gotcha. The thumb under the first finger on the right hand does look awkward, but I remember using it a lot in certain sequences when I took lessons.

Maybe. I am self taught and I just see him doing things a piano teacher yelled at me for.:p

Thanks Dave for the link and the information about where to get it and thank you to Audiobliss for bringing it out into the open in the first place. That is a beautiful piece of music to me.

Is the recording pretty decent on the CD or no?

I wouldn't know as I just heard it off my friend's iPod, not his CD.

I'm definitely going to be looking for the CD, though.

I would rate it a 7/8 outa 10, as far as redbook goes. I listened to it tonight after reading this thread, and damn it gives my 2.3tl's a workout with all that piano. Very hard instument for speakers to get right.

    Dave

PS. I seem to remember getting it at BB/CC for 9.99 or something, incase you want to satisfy your ear's thirst immediately.

Hahahaha. Good, glad you liked it. And no, you didn't come across as too negative. As a (self-proclaimed) pianist (ha!), I was curious as to what you meant.
