I found this amp new for a little less than $899. Is this a good deal for my new lsi theater. Regular price seems to be 1600.

What LSIs do you have and is that one of the new classics line? If it is that amp would have good current and would probably drive your LSI system very well in a medium size room. I have never heard a Parasound product but have read many good things about it. Is this amp new or used?AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH
Amplifier: B&K 7250 Series ii
Misc: Velodyne SMS-1
Mains: RTi-10

Rear: Boston DSi460

TV: Panasonic TC-P58V10
DVD: Panasonic DMP-BD60K -
It's the new Parasound line. Did you like the price? Then it was a good price. It would drive them well in a large room but not a stadiumCTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Parasound makes great gear. That amp is one of thier New Classic amps. Buy and enjoy!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

Full retail is $1799, so yes it's a good deal for a new one. It will put 185 watts/channel into the LSi 4 ohm nominal loads.
Used price on a Halo A52 would be around $1100 to $1200, maybe less if you were lucky. Might also want to look into the "old" classic line on the used market where an amp with double the power might be available in the same price range. Audio Advisor seems to have an HCA-2205 demo model for $999. My own preference would be to go with the Halo or old classic line because they are class A/AB designs whereas the new classic line isn't (it's class AB). Still a good amp though. -

Am I still sleeping? Perhaps hallucinating? Did Cathy just green light an amp under 200 watts?
HOLY CRAP! I better go play Lotto fast.

ROTFLMAO!!!! I just wanted to see if you guys were paying attention!:D
Personally, I would go for the 2205 on Audio Advisor. But it is a Parasound & they do make great gear. My old 1500A makes my brothers LSI 7's SCREAM!!!:DAm I still sleeping? Perhaps hallucinating? Did Cathy just green light an amp under 200 watts?

Cfrizz - I had one of the Parasound New Classic 2 ch. amps for a week or so, the 2225 if I remember correctly, and I don't think they are in the same league as the HCA-1500A (of which I have two driving my Magnepans!). A friend had bought one and he wasn't impressed with it compared to an older Parasound amp he had (can't remember which one!). I tried it and found the sound to just be thinner and not as dynamic as my HCA-1500's. Maybe it was a bad one, and let's keep in mind it was a single example, but in my opinion the 1500's killed it.
Correction - I think it was the New Classic 2250 that I tried!DKG999

 Wow that is a massive change then. I wonder what they did with the new series to make it sound so different, and not for the better?
In that case, start cruising Audiogon & get an older original Parasound.Cfrizz - I had one of the Parasound New Classic 2 ch. amps for a week or so, the 2225 if I remember correctly, and I don't think they are in the same league as the HCA-1500A (of which I have two driving my Magnepans!).
