RTA12Bs How to back off the high end??

I am getting attached to the RTA12bs. I may like them better then the SDA1s. Am I nuts??? After comparing tweeters I have decided on the Peerless for them (which is how they came from the factory 1981) but how would I back them off intensity wise just ever so slightly? I do not want to roll them off just back them down a hair. A resistor or longer and larger wire from the crossover? the stock ones have been cut several times and are shorter then they were.? I'm using a 2.0 uf/200v mylar cap. on my sl2000's and couldn't be happier.
